As Friday dwindles down and the weekend warriors make their way out the door to channel their energies elsewhere, I linger behind to make up for hours lost on the clock due to other obligations. Quiet moments like this seem to be carved out of our lives specifically for the purpose of attaching meaning or learning to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
Despite the lack of their physical presence, I am in good company here. We’re serving a good cause while taking things in stride.
It is not distant that makes a heart grow fonder- it is clarity and appreciation. Silence can be a virtue- if for no other reason, for clarity of the moment and appreciation for the people in our lives.
